I have noticed that among all Symbian phones, it is S60v1 and 2 that gives its users problem(s) the most, and in this post i will be teaching you how to solve those problems without spending a dime or formatting your phone.
The first problem is:
1. PHONE HANGING/SEIZING
Majority of Symbian users face this problem and they think removing the battery and putting it back is the only/best solution. Although it will solve the problem but you're going to lose some bars from your battery.
So what is the cause ?
You notice if there is a small number of application (software) installed in your phone (or probably you just saved the raw files in your explore) you barely experience your phone seizing.
That is to say that the reason why your phone is seizing is because you have too much application in your phone.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling or trying to tell you that you should uninstall/delete some of your applications. But since the problem of the seizing is from too much apps in the MMC(Memory card), the solution, instead of removing the battery, is to remove the memory card.
PS: This tutorial is not for phone with their m.card under their battery e.g 6600, 6630, 7310 etc
2. PHONE BOOTING UP TO NOKIA
You must have come across this problem; and the advice your are given is to give the phone a hard format
But do you know that if you are doing this because of the inability
of the phone to boot completely, then it's not a planned action because you will have to backup your data s like contacts and messages before formatting ( as you are told to do).
Now tell me, how do you intend to do so when the phone is not responding? That is to say that you are losing your contacts, messages and who knows, your antivirus because some antiviruses e.g McAfee is stored in phone memory.
So apart from hard format, another trick is to remove the memory card and restart the phone (It works well for me on my N70)
P.S: In other for you not to fall a victim of data loss, make sure u backup your phone at least twice a week.
PPS: The above Tips has been tested on N70 and N72
