Recently I got an email requesting for “A guide on running a twitter account”, so today I’ll be sharing with you (if you’re still having challenges as a beginner) a guide on how twitter works.

So if you haven’t tried twitter, here is what you need to know

Twitter is a social media site, which lets people share short messages (tweets) of 140 characters with friends (followers).

Getting Started With Twitter

1.   Go to the website www.twitter.com and register an account with your valid email address, username, and password. To let people know you well, add your location, photo and a short description about yourself. 
2.    Tweet: Twitter messages are called “Tweets” and its maximum character is 140 (including white spaces). You can tweet about anything such as your new car, a game you just watched or played, how your day went, something you read etc
3. Retweet: Retweet or “RT” lets other people (twitters) to forward your tweets to their followers.
4. Hash tags: Hash tags (“#”) when included to a word, makes it easy to search.
5. Tweet ups: using twitter to meet other twitter users.

Download Youtube Videos To Your Phone With Opera Mini

In case you don't know what youtube is, youtube is a video sharing website where lots of informative video tutorials are been uploaded into for visitors/users to watch online for free.

However, Youtube doesn't allow visitors/users to download videos. It only allows sending a hyperlink to friends for invitation to goto youtube's website to view the video(s).

Ok. Now lets say you saw an interesting video from youtube and you want to download it to your mobile phone and later sell it to ignorant buddies out there, or probably share it with your friends, or you just want to keep it as a collection. Whatever your reason may be...Just follow the below steps to download youtube videos to your phone with your phone ;-)

step 1

a. copy the below javascript code

Note: Make sure there is no space in the above code

b. Press menu and scroll to Bookmarks or press #5

c. Select Add... to add a new bookmark

d. Put youtube trick in the space for title and paste the javascript code you copied earlier in the space provided for address.

e. Press Add (left soft key) and you are done with the first step.

Step 2

a. Goto www.youtube.com and search for any video of your choice.

b. From the list of search results, click on the the video you want and

c. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "view desktop version"

d. Wait until the page reload to desktop version

e. Goto bookmark as explained in the B option of step 1

f. Click on the bookmark you added earlier (youtube trick) and wait for the page to reload.

g. You'll see a download botton/link under the video scene (where the video is being played). Click on the link/botton and wait.

h. After loading just click on any of the video format to download (flv, mp4, 240p...)

Please know that the higher the video format the bigger the size of the video. i.e the size of a .flv is bigger than that of a 240p.

How To Flash A Dead Phone With Phoenix

The procedure is almost thesame with the first method but with little differences.

1. Start Phoenix. Connect your phone through USB Cable (we are flashing a dead phone so the phone is off)

2. Click File > Open Product. Select your RM code from the window that appears. Click OK.

3. Click File > Manage Connections. Select No Connection. Then APPLY and CLOSE.

4. Now select Flashing > Firmware Update.

5. Check the option a Dead Phone USB Flashing.

6. Click Refurbish and the flashing process is started.

7. After some time, flashing will pause asking you to turn on your phone.

8. Press the POWER button of your phone until the backlight comes up.

9. Flashing will proceed. Your phone will automatically start when the flashing finishes.

When done, you can safely remove your data cable from handset.

How To Flash A Nokia Phone With Usb Cable

Hello reader, today i shall be sharing with you, how to flash a Nokia phone by using a usb cable.

 WHAT IS FLASHING? 

Flashing simply means updating the firmware of the phone, in other words re- installing the operating system of the phone.

Please note that this tutorial is not about flashing box like JAF, Cyclone and the rest of them. All that is needed is a usb cord, two softwares and an internet connection

 When a phone's operating system files are corrupt due to incompatible applications, virus attack and so on, flashing might be the only solution when restoring factory settings doesn't work.

Apart from this, flashing a phone too can be used to update the firmware to a newer version, install a cracked firmware, "wake" a dead phone, etc.

Note: You must take in the deep thought that flashing a phone shouldn't be done just for fun as it might be useful and dangerous at the same time.

Yes, flashing a phone can wake a dead phone, so also flashing a working phone can kill it!

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE SOFTWARES YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD TO GET STARTED: you can google them

1. Navifirm - to download the phone's firmware

2. Phoenix Service Suite

3. Nokia PC Suite

4. A good USB cable

Instructions

1. Install Phoenix. This might take a pretty long time if you're using a slow computer but you've got to be patient

2. Run Navifirm but be sure to have a working internet connection before doing this. It connects to the internet and loads all available Nokia phones firmwares. This too also takes a long time and requires a steady internet connection so you need some patience here too.

3. Be sure your phone's battery is charged to at least 50% though flashing should take less than 10 minutes.

4. Select your phone type under Products. It is located on the phone just beneath the battery. For example, N97's product type is RM-505, RM-133 for N73 and RM-596 for Nokia N8. (You can as well check it by dialling *#0000# in standby.)

5. Wait till it loads Releases. From here, you can see all available firmware versions. Select the latest you find there.

6. It now loads Variants, select your desired product code from the list. You can also check beneath the battery to find the original product code.

7. Now select all the files and download. Select Download with IDMM (Internet Download Manager) if you have it installed it on your PC. If not, select, Download with program and choose the destination folder.

8. Go to C:/Program Files/Nokia/ Phoenix/Products Create a folder with the name as your phone product type. For example, for Nokia N97, the folder will be named RM-505 The firmware files you downloaded will then be located in C:/Program Files/Nokia/Phoenix/ Products/RM-505

9. Now run PHOENIX and connect your mobile phone in PC Suite mode. If phoenix detects your phone automatically, skip steps 110-14.

10. In Phoenix, click File > Manage Connections > New.

11. Now select the type of cable you are using. If you are using DKE-2, CA-53, Micro USB cable, select USB.

12. Click Next. It will find your product and say FOUND. If it does not find any, you can try changing your cable type by clicking Back.

13. Click Next and then Finish.

14. Now your cable type (USB) appears in the connection list. Select it. Click APPLY and then CLOSE.

15. Now select File > Open Product.

16. A list of RM codes will open. Select your phoenix RM code.

17. Now select File > Scan Product.

18. Your phoenix firmware info will appear at the extreme bottom of the Phoenix Service Software window.

19. Now select Flashing > Firmware Update. At this point, Phoenix will automatically load the firmware files we talked about in step 8. If it doesn't, make sure you named that directory accordingly and please go over step 8 again.

20. If everything up to step 20 goes well, select Refurbish, wait until the a Successful dialog box appear (DO NOT touch or disconnect the phone or USB cable during the process). Press OK, phone will disconnect and restart. At the end Phoenix will tell you to disconnect your phone as the flashing has finished butome phones may not boot up automatically after the flashing has finished. In those cases, remove the battery and then insert it and manually start the phone.

How To Upload/Change Profile Picture On 2go

Uploading your picture to 2go or changing your current profile picture is very easy.
But before i continue, i will like to introduce to you, my previous post on how to edit 2go profile.

To upload/change your 2go profile picture, follow the steps
below:

1. Login to 2go.

2. On the Main menu, click on MY PROFILE.

3. Select the EDIT.

4. Click on " profile Pic from file" or "profile pic from cam"

5. Select your picture and save.

NOTE: Sometimes when you upload a picture, either it takes a very long time before it uploads, or it doesn't upload.

This is because the size of the image is too big...
So try again by making it small
or by uploading another picture.

How To Decrease/Reduce The Size Of A Picture

Decreasing the size of your picture can give your phone memory alot of space for other files, it also makes it easier for you to upload it to the internet(facebook, 2go, twitter
) e.t.c.

At the time of writing this post, to decrease or reduce the size of your picture can be done with a symbian phone(Nokia N70/N72). You can test it on other phones.

To reduce it, follow the steps below:

1. Locate the picture(the one you want to reduce its size)

2. Press OPTION(The left soft key)

3. Scroll down to SHRINK and click on it.

4. A message will pop up, telling you that "shrinking will replace the original image. Shrink?". Select YES and wait for the shrinking process to complete.

How To Hide Folders In Java Phones

Have you ever wanted to hide folders in your phone? If yes, here is a very interesting solution for you to hide folders in your phone without the need of any software. This trick works for Nokia,Samsung,Motorola,LG or any other company. The only requirement is that your phone should support
java which almost all mobile phones support now.

Hint:You can also read my post on how to hide your symbian files.

So,If your phone supports java, here is the trick to hide folders in Nokia/Java phones without software.

1. Create any new folder or use any existing folder that is to be hidden.

2. Rename the folder to any name but with the extension of .jad.
like if I want to hide my images folder then I will name it as images.jad

3. Now create a new folder with the same name in the same directory but with the extension of .jar
So, I would create the folder with the name images.jar

4. And thats it!! My orignal images folder which has been renamed with .jad gets hidden and only folder with.jar extension is visible which is empty. So,my data is protected/hidden from unwanted eyes.

HOW TO OPEN THE HIDDEN FILE
Now ,we have to learn how to open these hidden folders. Here is the trick to open these hidden folders in Mobile phones.

To unhide the orignal folder you have to remove the .jar extension from the new folder and your orignal folder with all the files and with .jad will become visible.
